Masai Mara hot air balloon operators fail to block their rival

​A tribunal has dismissed an appeal by four hot air balloon operators—Skyship Company Ltd, Africa Eco-Adventures Ltd, Adventures Aloft Kenya Ltd, and Balloon Safaris Ltd—who opposed the issuance of a license to their competitor, Ishara Air Balloon Safaris Ltd, to operate within the Masai Mara National Reserve. The operators argued that the Narok County government had previously directed them to reduce the number of daily balloon operations to conserve the ecosystem and prevent environmental degradation. Despite these objections, the tribunal found no sufficient reason to overturn the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority's decision to grant the license to Ishara Air Balloon Safaris.
