A large international child pornography platform dismantled, announces Berlin
A large-scale crackdown on international child pornography has taken place. A streaming platform showing sexual abuse of minors, with approximately 1.8 million users worldwide, has been dismantled following an investigation that led to raids in 31 countries, German authorities announced on Wednesday, April 2.
The dismantling of the "KidFlix" platform is "the largest operation" in the field of child pornography since the creation of Europol, the European police coordination agency, said Guido Limmer, deputy director of the Bavarian criminal police, during a press conference.
Nearly 1,400 suspects have been identified. In total, 1.8 million people worldwide are believed to have accessed the platform, hosted on the dark web, to view the videos since April 2022.
